“Eat breakfast like a King, Lunch like a Prince, and Dinner like a Pauper”

As the saying goes, a lot of people still think starting their day without breakfast is going to affect their health immediately. From a very young age, mothers make sure of the fact that their offspring knows how important it is to start their day with a good breakfast. While it is true that for children, having a good breakfast before going off to school can enhance their cognitive skills significantly, but is it really the most important meal of the day? Kellogg’s and Quakers certainly wants you to think so!

Years and years of research have shed some light on one thing for sure: regardless of whether breakfast is the most important meal or not, what you eat during those hours is a lot more important in order to really avail the benefits of having your first meal of the day at those hours.

Not Everyone Wakes Up Hungry

There certainly are tons of families that consider eating first thing in the morning as their first priority because they believe there’s no better way to start the day. Of course, if you go to work when your stomach’s literally grumbling like a blue whale, your productivity levels are going to be painfully low. But what if you’re among the 50% of the population that doesn’t wake up feeling hungry?

If the thought of not having breakfast before leaving your house hasn’t occurred to you ever in your life, you might be thrilled to find that among the entire population of the world, at least half of the people don’t wake up feeling hungry at all. So much so, some people even shriek at the thought of putting food in their mouths minutes after waking up because they feel sick to their stomachs.

However, that doesn’t mean that one half of the population is better than the other or has their life on track. As a matter of fact, there’s no right or wrong way to start your day when you reach adulthood due to the simple fact that the person in question would understand and recognize their body’s signals.

What You Eat Matters the Most

Far more than whether you should eat breakfast or not, what you eat during those hours matters the most. Many people are stuck in a loophole where they wake up each morning, pour cereal and milk in a bowl and call it a good start to the day. However, cereals are loaded with things that are just not good ingredients to start a day.

On the other hand, there are those who ensure that their first meal of the day is loaded with a minute amount of carbs, protein, fat, meat, nuts, etc., and these are the people who certainly experience the benefits of consuming these items throughout the day. Cereal, on the other hand, is simply not good for your health – especially if you’re a full grown adult. This is mainly due to the fact that as adults, cereals cannot make up for the nutrients that you need to start your day fresh.
